The first edition of a long poem in seven cantos, with heavy Icelandic influence, by classical scholar and clergyman William Herbert (1778-1847). Herbert's later literary career was marked by a series of acclaimed translations, including Ossiani Darthula (1801), Select Icelandic Poetry, Translated from the Originals with Notes (1804-6), and his epic poem Attila, or, The Triumph of Christianity (1838), the result of a decade of work.
