London.
Elkin Mathews and John Lane, 1893.

The second edition of editor, poet and suffragist Alice Meynell's (1847-1922) Poems, her second book of poetry after 1875's Preludes. Meynell, whose feminist poetry often discussed the climate of a post-Great War Britain, was twice considered for the position of poet laureate - a position which if awarded, would have made her only the second woman ever to hold the role.
