[8], viii, 311pp, [1]. With a half-title and an 8pp publisher's catalogue tipped-in to front pastedown. Original publisher's blind-stamped brown cloth, lettered in gilt to spine. Very minor shelf-wear, top-edge a trifle dusty. Inked ownership inscription to recto of FFEP: 'George Farmer / Purchased at Penbryn sale April 28th / 1858', short tear to head of leaf O1, else internally clean and crisp.
A crisp copy of the collected poetical works of Samuel Rogers (1763-1855), which includes 'The Pleasures of Memory', the discursive poem first printed in 1792 from which he made his name. Upon the death of Wordsworth, Rogers was offered, but declined, the position of Poet Laureate.
