New York printed: London reprinted. James Phillips & Son, 1798. New edition.

An early English edition, printed in the year after the American first, of a biography of Job Scott (1751-1793), eminent traveling minister in the Religious Society of Friends and a prominent American quietist. Later interpretations of Scott's atypical doctrinal philosophy would contribute to the 1827 Hicksite-Orthodox split, the first schism within Quakerism.
