[VILLAGE CURATE]. The village curate. Founded on truth.

London. Printed and published by Knevett, Arliss, and Baker, [1810].
24mo. [2], 129-159pp, [1]. With an engraved frontispiece (dated Novr. 1. 1810). Original publisher's buff pictorial wrappers. A trifle rubbed and creased. Bookplate of Crewe Hall Library tipped-in to verso of frontispiece.
A remarkably rare survival, in crisp original state, of an anonymous clerical tale in which a humble curate, imprisoned for failure to pay his debts, is rescued by a kindly (not to mention wealthy) landed benefactor; issued as a part of Knevett, Arliss, and Baker's 'Sentimental Tales from the Juvenile Library, Bartholomew Close'.

OCLC records copies at just four locations (California, Indiana, Toronto, and Western Michigan).
