The sole edition of a French translation of Louisa Gurney Hoare's (1784-1836) remarkably successful Hints for the improvement of early education and nursery discipline (1819); seemingly the only published work of Mathilde de Larive Dupa, of whom little is known.
Hoare's first published and best-known work, Hints was a tremendous success; editions appeared both in Britain and the United States for more than eighty years after its first publication.
