An early collection of juvenile fiction by Irish novelist and educational writer Maria Edgeworth (1768- 1849), first published in 1804. Her father and sometime collaborator, Robert Lovell Edgeworth (1744- 1817), provides prefatory remarks on the increasing popularity of reading in England.
